Blue Buckeye | Hand-Turned Stabilized Buckeye Burl Vertex Pen

Blue Buckeye turns one of nature’s more unpredictable materials into a substantial, refined writing instrument. Stabilized Blue Buckeye Burl gives the body its smoky blue-grey character, with darker figuring and natural variations moving through the wood from every angle.

The burl was individually turned, shaped and polished at the lathe, revealing patterns that existed inside the blank long before the finished pen took shape. Stabilization gives the wood additional durability while allowing its natural figuring, inclusions and character to remain part of the finished piece.

Built in the Vertex style, the pen is paired with gunmetal grey hardware that complements the darker tones of the Buckeye Burl without overpowering them. Its broad, substantial profile gives the pen a confident presence in the hand while keeping the natural material at center stage.

Like every hand-turned writing instrument from Perfect Imperfections, this piece was individually shaped, finished and assembled. The variations within the burl are not defects to disguise. They are precisely what make this particular pen impossible to duplicate.
